Iridium GO!

The Iridium GO! brings satellite communication very close! The package includes a small WiFi hub to which up to 5 devices (iPhone, Samsung, tablet) can be connected. Via the Iridium satellite network you can then communicate with the home front (calling and texting), send photos or download grib files, weather forecasts or satellite images. You can even inform your social network of your experiences in the middle of the sea by posting a picture on Facebook or a tweet.

The Iridium GO! Has 100% global coverage. The Iridium GO! Offers an Internet speed of 2.5 Kilobits per second; this should be enough to do the basics, such as sending small files or checking the weather, online.

The GO is a Wi-Fi hotspot for up to 5 Apple/Android devices, which connect within a radius of 30 meters. Connecting to the Iridium GO! is via a special App that needs to be downloaded on the smartphone or tablet.

REMEMBER:

The Internet speed is a maximum of 2.5 Kbps and thus does not compare to the user experience as it is at home. Unlimited surfing on the Internet, transferring heavy files, whatsapping or skyping is unfortunately not (yet) an issue. The system is not fast enough for that. But the GO! is all set for the Iridium Next platform, which in the near future will offer a whole new network of satellites that will increase the speed of the GO!
