Smartcard and CI-modules (Common Interface) are required for the reception of (payed) satellite tv at home, during camping, in your mobile, camper, boat or wherever you are. Counterpart of pay tv are the Free-to-Air (FTA) channels. A smartcard or CI-mocule is not necessary to receive these free channels.
